Whole class instrumental teaching is a major part of the support Shropshire Music Service offers to schools across the county, and Burford Primary School has been among the first to test our brand new set of pBone minis.
The trial has already created a real buzz, with pupils discovering the excitement of brass playing in a hands on and accessible way.
Through the DfE Music Hub capital grant programme, Shropshire Music Service has invested in a wide range of beginner friendly instruments including pBones, pBone minis, DooDs and TooTs.
Burford pupils have been exploring these colourful instruments for the first time and are already producing an impressive sound.
Jo Giles, our Whole Class Team Coordinator, has been leading the sessions at Burford.
Ellie Nugent, Burford Music Lead, shared her delight at the progress being made. She said, “Class 4 have been lucky enough to be one of only two classes in the whole of Shropshire to be learning to play the brand new sets of pBone minis with Mrs Giles. They will have them for the whole of this term and are having great fun exploring the instrument, making different sounds and learning to play different melodies.”
The early enthusiasm is clear to see, and everyone is looking forward to hearing a full performance at the end of term.
A huge well done to all the budding brass players at Burford.
The future of music making is sounding very bright indeed.
