Pupils at Myddle CE Primary School are enjoying an exciting step forward in their Whole Class Instrumental lessons thanks to support from the DfE Music Hub capital grant.
This investment has allowed Shropshire Music Service to introduce a new collection of beginner instruments, including the TooT, a fun and accessible starter flute designed especially for young musicians.
Under the guidance of Mrs White, pupils have been moving confidently from recorder to TooT and, for many, this will be the pathway to learning the full concert flute.
The clever design of the TooT makes it easy to hold, easy to play and perfect for helping children build good technique.
Mrs White has loved seeing the pupils react to the new instruments. She said, “every child transferred their skills from the recorder to the TooT with no effort. We had smiles and excitement. What a great day.”
The enthusiasm in the classroom has been infectious, and Myddle pupils are already making wonderful progress as they explore new sounds and melodies.
