Open to all orchestral instrumentalists at grade 3 and above, SYO’s weekly rehearsals will help you explore a vast world of music.
Our senior orchestra is inclusive: we welcome all woodwind, brass, string and percussion players.
Finding a welcoming orchestra can be difficult. Our rehearsals are fun and supportive, and all players work together to create a really impressive sound!
We focus on developing musicians that learn to work together, communicate effectively and respect each other’s skills and musical ideas.
At Shropshire Youth Orchestra you’ll explore a vast array of music from Stage to Screen, Latin to Funk, Classical to Contemporary.
SHROPSHIRE YOUTH ORCHESTRA regularly performs at local concerts, showcases and events around the county.
Our performances are scheduled throughout the year with the highlight always being our Summer Showcase on the Quarry Bandstand in Shrewsbury.
Family and friends are always welcome to attend and celebrate the achievements of our senior instrumentalists as they showcase the enormous progress they’ve made throughout the year.
